"The Hawaiian Origins Tunnel"is a permanent exhibit at The Bishop Museum on Oahu Hawaii. Made from recycled materials, this blacklight art installation has been open to the public since November of 2006 and is maintained by the Bishop Museum and local Hawaiian partnerships. The exhibit is a 3D immersive environment with a soundtrack about the creation of the Hawaiian islands and its people. Perdita consulted and designed the five zones in the tunnel while working with teachers and their students from five Hawaiian middle schools to complete this installation. She has continued the use of fluorescent paints and recycled materials in her community artworks. In 2007 she began to encourage public "Shape Painting"events at her studio and now offers opportunities for group retreats, team building workshops and conferences. All of her projects are sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The art compositions below are examples of collages made from the painted fluorescent paper that is repurposed after a "Shape Painting" Event
